Took an eight week class and learned so much. I was ready to be super intimidated because I’ve never done any sort of pottery or clay work before but Kevin made it really approachable and fun and I even walked away with a few pieces that I’m really proud of. It was a very chill experience, priced really reasonably for all I got out of it, and I’m looking into signing up for another block of classes. Perfect way to spend a sunday morning! Beginners are truly welcome!

I went to a class in summer 2024 with my partner and had a good time. We love our pieces and they still hold strong. My lower rating is due to my experience August 2023. I reserved a class and could not make it due to a day of personal emergency. I emailed the studio and they replied that there were no refunds at all and couldn't reschedule less than a week before the class. I understood at the time. Still, I really wanted to take the class so I waited until I could save enough money and register for the class again. When I had my class this year, I kept trying to figure out why I couldn't get a refund or reschedule. Anyone who didn't show up just had their molds removed and the clay slip set out for them put back in the buckets they came from. It seemed like not a big deal for the instructors because no material or time went to waste. I could be wrong.I understand not offering refunds or anything like that if no one shows up and doesn't bother reaching out, but I am a bit surprised that they would not want me to experience their class? Do they not understand last minute emergencies happen? I'm a bit disgusted that they just took my money.Overall if you don't ever expect to have a personal emergency or fall sick the day of, you might like this class.

Wilcoxson Brooklyn Ceramics was a perfect choice for celebrating my birthday with a group of friends. It started with an easy booking process thanks to Kevin who was very friendly, flexible and responsive to our needs. We had a spacious and bright studio upstairs all to ourselves complemented by BYOB and freedom to choose our own music which made the creative process even more enjoyable. But of course the main highlight of the experience was a pottery class itself. Our instructor, Matt, was fantastic. He patiently explained the pottery making process before we started and offered helpful tips throughout the whole 3-hour session. We really enjoyed making the cups - it was challenging enough for beginners like us but very rewarding, as by the end of the class everyone was able to make 2 cups each!I highly recommend this ceramics studio for a group event and plan to return for a regular class myself.

Had so much fun at the planter workshop! The space is small which made for a good class size, around 13 people. The instructors were so lovely. They provided creative inspiration and enough guidance that no one could mess up too badly! Can't wait to see how our pieces come out!

Had a lot of fun at their full day workshop. It was for 2 tables, 2 mugs, and 2 bowls (that you have the option to divide into shorter bowls too). Kevin is so kind in giving advice and sharing tips on bringing your design and idea into life. So I'd definitely recommend this class to anyone interested in a quick, one time, no commitment or prior experience needed, kind of class. Of course it's always better to come prepared with an idea of what you want to make, it'll make things go smoother. There are 3 colored slip available, and only tonal variations from those. So I only used the blue slip and mixed in with the base to get the gradation. All this was explained in the demo in the beginning of the class. And there are plenty of samples of student work and their work too, to gain inspiration from as well
