New York Dog Spa – 25th Street is the most incredible place for my (dog) baby, Molly. It all starts with Audrey, the amazing manager, who is not only kind and loving to Molly but goes above and beyond to be sure that the Dog Spa is SO much more than «a place to leave my dog» – it is Molly’s home away from home! Audrey and all of the staff and handlers are kind, knowledgeable, careful, fun and engaged, and the dogs they have Molly paired with are the perfect dogs to ensure that she has the best time and is safe. And they are always doing special activities with and giving so much TLC to the dogs! Because of this, I feel beyond comfortable having Molly there for doggy day care, as well as for boarding and grooming – it is the only place that I will take Molly for all of these services. And the best indication of what a fabulous place it is is how Molly runs to get there and, at times, wants to stay when I go to pick her up! Molly’s excitement at seeing Audrey and the other staff when we come in the door warms my heart. I am so grateful for our New York Dog Spa family!!!

I used to visit this salon and get my Pomeranian groomed with Ink. Now she doesn’t work there anymore and I got recommended by the front desk groomer named Alex.
I showed the groomer my reference pictures (which were photos of my dog groomed previously with Ink). My dog’s hair was cut absolutely in a horrible way. Nothing like the photos I showed AT ALL. It was extremely short and looked like a typical Instagram teddy bear cut. Every responsible Pomeranian owner knows that Poms shouldn’t be cut too short, they can get alopecia. They are double-coated dogs and the groomer MUST know how to work with this kind of hair. I’ve been crying for several days already. My dog’s coat is completely RUINED. It’s uneven, it’s too short, it doesn’t look professionally done at all.
I sent photos of now and what I asked for to the salon on the same day and they didn’t respond! Customer service is absent! I want to speak with the supervisor, I would like to know WHY they think it’s okay to ignore their client’s concerns and WHY they think it’s okay for the groomer to do such a horrible job. You need to be blind not to see how bad it is! Why did you cut my dog’s coat in such a malicious way? That’s completely not what I asked for. Needless to say it’s harmful to her coat.
STAY AWAY from this salon if you’re a responsible Pom owner. I can’t look at my dog without tears now. What did you do??

we chose to board our 6 month old puppy here in a desperate pinch after a sitter late cancelled. i should’ve known by the smell and appearance of the showroom when i walked in that the experience would be a nightmare. 1) they make you do a trial before boarding to make sure the dog is suitable, which is reasonable, except that they charge you a full $150 day pass for a maybe 1 hour test visit. 2) when we got home from the test we realized that they had taken off our dog’s collar and forgotten to put it back on, and made us come back to pick it up without offering an alternative (unnecessarily running across the city – every NYers favorite pastime). 3) when we picked our dog up from the overnight a few days later, her eyes were terribly goopy and she couldn’t run out of the store fast enough to diarrhea on the sidewalk (she had never had diarrhea until his point). after hundreds of dollars of subsequent vet visits, she was diagnosed with giardia AND pink eye after just a 2 night stay. no wonder they offer vet services in house – great business model! 4) we were also promised a report card that never came at the end of either of the two visits. 5) they also tell you to pack extra food servings in case your trip gets inadvertently extended, which is again reasonable, except that they don’t give you that food back at the end (and sneakily advertise on their site that they can charge you to feed dogs with food in-house, which in hindsight presumably comes from the extra food they steal from their customers through their misleading instructions).
genuinely can’t say enough bad things about our experience here and going forward will avoid it like the plague, which apparently runs rampant there too…
Brian Thallemer

My dog, Berkeley absolutely loves it here. The staff is so nice and so attentive. We are always greeted by name and with a smile. Whenever I go out of town I am provided with many updates on my pup. This is such a great spot to leave your dog for a day or a vacation. I would give more than 5 stars if I could.

I cannot recommend Camp Canine highly enough! It is the first (and only) daycare my dog has ever been to, and she loves it. They have so many great add-on activities (including walks in Central Park), which make Camp Canine extra special. The staff are all very friendly and helpful—I also appreciate how easy it is to communicate with them via email. If you’re looking for a great daycare for your dog, send them to Camp Canine!

I’ve been taking my dog to camp canine since he was 5 months old. It was a fantastic socialization experience when he was a puppy and he grew to absolutely love it! It’s been 2.5 years now and he still goes and knows “camp canine” by name. The staff here are so friendly and recognize and greet my dog by name every time he comes! Amanda is the absolute best and treats my dog like an absolute king – will even personally send me photos when he’s there – my dog adores her! The owner Mike is so responsive and truly cares for all of the dogs. Brenda is so caring and sweet with my pup and all of his friends! Lena and Aria are always very responsive and friendly when I call or am dropping off and Lynn goes out of her way to find a spot for my pup when he needs a bath or grooming. Speaking of grooming, I cannot recommend Kathy enough for doodles – she just nails it! I am so grateful to have Camp Canine in the neighborhood and always know my dog is getting the most attention and love when he’s there. Highly recommend!

I was deeply disappointed with our experience at Camp Canine. We were interested in boarding our puppy, but the process was far from satisfactory. Before you are able to board your dog, you must have them pass a test day.
Upon arrival for our test day, we were met with minimal explanation about their procedures. Instead of a proper tour, they abruptly took our puppy from us, which was distressing, especially since she had just been nipped at by another dog in the lobby—a situation that the staff did not address.
When we attempted to see the boarding area, we were quickly shooed away by staff and asked to leave. The brief glimpse we got of the kennels was unsettling—metal crates stacked on top of each other with no bedding, in a harshly lit room.
At pickup, we were informed that our puppy had «failed» her test due to poor social skills, which was surprising and uncharacteristic of her behavior. She has always been playful and affectionate, and we’ve never witnessed the issues they claimed. Moreover, we were pushed to speak to a manager who had a shortlist of trainers we needed to consult before trying another test stay. It felt like we were being upsold, and that having us sign up with one of their preferred trainers was the entire point of the day.
We received no information on if our puppy had eaten, gone for a walk, or gone potty.
We decided to use Rover instead and found a much more caring and accommodating sitter for our pup. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Camp Canine and would suggest exploring other options for your pet’s boarding needs.

Our dog Kirby loves Camp Canine!! She immediately runs down the hallway to the back and gets so excited when she sees counselors. The staff are so communicative and really care about the dogs wellbeing.
Erin Reifler

Having to leave your four legged best friend to be boarded for the first time is never easy especially if your furry friend has severe separation anxiety (he wasn’t invited on the vacation) so I looked into several places for Teddy to stay at and found there was only one place I could trust my favorite boy with and that was Camp Canine.
Teddy (a 3.5 year old Goldendoodle) had been there before for daycare and grooming and always seemed happy compared to other places. So I dropped him off and he didn’t even turn around and cry because he knew he was going to have fun. The only one with tears was me.
They went above and beyond to reassure me that he was in good hands. I received daily emails on how he was doing and even providing pictures. Knowing he wasn’t anxious allowed me to extend my trip which was such a gift.
Their entire staff is dedicated, sweet and caring. I also have to mention that the facility is so big that Teddy had room to do his daily zoomies. It is also extremely clean. That was really important to me because the other places I looked into were not clean and I was not comfortable leaving him in a place like that.
When I picked him up he came running down the hall with a huge smile and when we got home he slept for 26 hours. He definitely had the time of his life and I am sure can’t wait to go back.
Overall a huge success and a big thanks to the entire family at Camp Canine!

La mejor atención para su mascota y cuidado

I tried a couple places before finding Paws Gurus to have my 95 lbs. Great Pyrenees mix groomed, and Paws is by far the BEST! They do an incredible job every time and then when I pick him up give me details about how he did, any areas that seemed sensitive, etc. They do a great job deshedding for an incredibly high-shedding breed, they do his nails, brush his teeth and trim his coat. I always recommend them to friends at the park who ask and highly recommend to anyone, especially people with long haired breeds that are a bit more difficult to groom!

Vera and her whole team are so wonderful to my sweet Maria girl! Maria absolutely loves her days at Paws Gurus. I love having her there knowing I don’t have a thing to worry about. She is so loved and comes home exhausted from playing all day!
Sarah Paxton

I highly recommend Paws Gurus and their staff for boarding and day care. We’ve been using their services for more than 2 years now. I think the best sign of how awesome this place is how happy and energized both of my dogs are whenever they come back from boarding and day care with Vera and their staff. Every time my dogs see Vera and other staff they can’t contain their excitement. I have a shy small dachshund and a highly energetic and social black lab mix. They both seem to love it even though they have very different personality traits! The dogs are never in crates, they get to spend all of their day playing and socializing in a big open room and running around outside in their yard. This speaks volumes as to how amazing this place is for dogs.
Scheduling appointments as well as pick ups with them are always easy, and Vera is very communicative and will always do everything posible to fit our schedules and needs. Our dogs Frida and Camila love it here and we do too. I highly recommend this place with no reservations.

Had a stellar experience boarding my cat, Basil, here for a week while traveling abroad! She seemed to have such a great time with the staff, who all treated her with care and love. The team here is incredible and I’d recommend this place for convenience, reliability, and location (the Chelsea location is unmatched and very accessible). Love this place and so does Basil!

Finding a trustworthy dog boarding facility in NYC’s Chelsea neighborhood felt daunting, but this place made it easy. From my first visit, the friendly staff reassured me that my doggo was in the best hands. They’re attentive, professional, and clearly cared about my dog’s individual needs.
A special shoutout to Sade, who took the time to get to know my dog’s personality and made it comfortable for me to leave him. The facility is great, well-designed, and perfectly secure, with cozy rest areas and plenty of playtime. I received regular updates, and my dog was so happy throughout his stay!
If you’re looking for the best dog boarding or daycare in Chelsea, this is it. I’m grateful to have finally found a place I can trust fully. Highly recommend and my doggo can hardly wait for his next visit.

Paws In Chelsea has responsible and caring employees. They’re absolute rockstars! Albus & Charlie are total brats, but they’re in great hands at Paws. And love the new owner. Best daycare in Chelsea!

We dropped off our little lovely Lucy! As we made clear, she will cry for us very loud for the first two or so days. As she did, and she was cared for! Other spots have told us “No.” the second we mention her separation anxiety. Paws in Chelsea was happy to take her, they sent tons of photos and emails! Being first time boarding dog parents we were nervous. They made it easy and helpful by sending so many emails and amazing photos. We picked her up in good shape too. She was is a very happy dog and I’m glad we found our new spot here!

Fantástico lugar cuidan los perros con mucho amor, este hotel es el número uno ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So, I considered whether I should write a review of Hotel Bark Avenue. Bark Avenue has lots of good reviews, but alas, this will not be one of them.
I would normally add what the owner had to say, but he has yet to call me back…so I am on my own. Owner has since blocked me from his Instagram account.
My dog (22 lb / 15 month old female Beagle) did a one day “play/day care” session. We filled in the paperwork and paid before we came. When we arrived, the windows were all blacked out and we could not see in. We were told that it stopped the dogs from getting agitated if they saw their owners. There is also no “live” camera feed – so what goes on is a mystery and we must rely on the staff posting on their Instagram which, by definition is self curated.
Fortunately, we went on Instagram often throughout the day, and what we say was maybe 8 dogs ganging up on our dog whose tail was tucked between her legs as she tried to escape. What we found fascinating was that this had to have been observed by the staff, since they filmed and posted it. We called the owner and asked about this. He said he would review the tapes. He did. He edited the tapes and added other shots of our dog having fun and deleted the most damaging ones.
We came to pick the dog up. The place was still crowded according to the owner. When we came to get her, we waited about 10 minutes for her to be brought out (remember, we cant go in or see in). The staff person explained that, in fact, our dog was treated in a rough manner and apologized.
After about 5 minutes of chatting with us on pick up, she lamented that she needed to get back inside as no one else was there to watch the dogs. So, there are a bunch of dogs, left unattended each time a dog is picked up.
To recap: Can’t see inside, no live camera, short staffed resulting in dogs unattended, our dog gets kinda beat up, video records are altered. This is the upper east side of New York. Do yourself a favor and find a more transparent vendor who appreciates that dogs are family members and people care how they are treated.

Best daycare I could ask for. My pup has serious anxiety issues due to early age trauma and can’t be caged or by herself. While working on her training and medication, Hotel Bark Avenue helps when we can’t be with her. She’s never unattended and I can tell how much she loves Kevin. Even with her anxiety and lack of socialization skills, she has plenty of fun moments that I can see through instagram stories.
They give me great feedback on her behavior and always have a positive and welcoming attitude.

I wanted to share an experience I had at a dog boarding school at Hotel Bark Ave (143 E 103rd St), so no one else experienced this disrespectful behavior. I dropped my dog off for overnight dogboarding from 8/29 to 9/2 and paid prior to dropping him off. After picking up my dog on 9/2, I received another invoice to pay an additional $55. I was confused at the amount, so I reached out to clarify why I received this invoice. Kevin Tamayo, the general manager, replied to my email, explaining that Hotel Bark’s policy was charging me this amount even though I had already paid $370 for a dog’s overnight stay. I informed them that my original invoice, for which I had already paid, did not include the additional $55. Kevin decided to respond to me by saying that refusal to pay for the service seems in «poor taste.» Rude right? Then he proceeded to threaten me, saying he would «call the other dog boarding facilities nearby» because I refused to pay for a service that was never charged to me on the original invoice I already paid for. Great customer service, right? I wholeheartedly endorse small businesses, yet it’s important to treat customers fairly instead of intimidating them when they express frustration over unclear explanations. Lastly, we went and paid the $55 to be done with it, but when the payment was sent, he went ahead and called other facilities to block me from getting dog service. Again, so nasty, so rude.
Ultimately, I do not recommend anyone seek dog service for this facility. In order to grow a business, you have to provide superb customer service, which makes customers return. Kevin Tamayo failed to do so.
Keenan Woods-Scott

Can’t imagine a better daycare! Gianni loves to see the workers and gets excited to go see his friends. ❤️ they also don’t cage the dogs during boarding, and have free access to everything.

Great place to take your dog! When I first too my pup, he’d cry when I left him but he’s gotten to the point where he likes going. Very reasonable prices for the area, you can get packages that last long enough where you’ll use all of it and they offer a web cam when your dog is checked in for the day. They have a big dog and little dog room, which I love because my pup is only 5.3lbs. They also have a groomer, so you can drop your pup off for daycare and they will have him groomed in time for pickup. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Was able to quickly and easily drop my precious fur baby off when I found myself in Manhattan last second. They worked with me to get signed in to view the cameras and were not mad when I accidentally showed up late for pick up! Will definitely be back when I’m in the city again!

I brought my dog Rafael for the first time today and I had a great experience! The receptionist and groomer were both extremely friendly and welcoming and made my nervous little Rafa feel comfortable right away. His haircut was done in under 2 hours which is really fast in my experience. When I came to pick him up he was very happy and his haircut was adorable. They also asked if I wanted to change anything with his cut which was a really nice thing to offer that other groomers usually don’t do. I am so happy I switched to Buddy’s for my dog’s grooming and I will definitely be back 🙂

Love Buddy’s! Nic and the rest of the staff are great, and really take care of your dog like family. I’ve been dropping off Kimchi here regularly over the last few years, when I go to work, and she LOVES going to daycare there.
I also really appreciate that I have access to the webcams and can check in during the day.
I can’t say enough how friendly and professional the team is there! 5 stars and more!

This was my first time getting Cocoa groomed at Buddy’s and it was a great experience. Xana was our groomer and she did an awesome job! She was friendly, incredibly thorough and fast. I was surprised when I got a call 2 hours after drop off the Cocoa was ready for pick up – her coat is immaculate with no more under coat shedding and she was such a happy pup when I picked her up.

Only a groom customer, have not done daycare. I think they did a great groom, and obviously everyone here loves the pets that come in and treat them each exceptionally. They knew every dogs name coming through the door, and were especially sweet with any of the more anxious dogs. First groom with them. Took exactly 2 hours and she looks wonderful! Was exactly what I hoped for.
Only originally 4 stars because a) the groomer Joe was 30 minutes late and while the front desk apologized several times, there wasn’t any sort of complimentary service for the time lost, and b) with a $20 tip, total price was $155 which seems like a bit much for a 14 lb dog with no matting. I will update to 5 stars if on the next groom the groomer is on time/if the groomer is not on time, they offer a discount ect.
But for the price, definitely worth the peace of mind. Joe was obviously a natural with my dog, and she came home without any anxiety or fear after the visit.
Edit: 5 stars as Dog Spa just sent me an email with a discount for the next visit! Stuff happens, and I’m glad they went that extra mile to make it up to a first time customer. 🙂 Thanks dog spa!

Thank you Dog Spa 20th Street for always taking amazing care of my dog Elsa! She has had multiple knee surgeries, and they helped me care for her when I’ve had no other outside help. They give her medication, watch her every move and have given her an “apartment” with lots of blankets which she begs to go into. She has many dog friends who have become family, and she has never been as happy at any other daycare location than she is at this one. I trust Dog Spa 20th so very much with Elsa, and I’m so grateful that she has a home away from home.
