They just finished my apt (new walls for bedrooms and closets, new bathroom, plumbing, tiling, electric, etc) and it looks fantastic. They are easy to work with.

Rubi, the project manager, was a great communicator and very helpful. His ideas and recommendations made the finished product better than it would be otherwise. He took every aspect of the job seriously, the team works quickly and efficiently, and their work is high quality with attention to detail.

Their pricing is fair, and they provide a detailed quote thats easy to read and discuss. Not like other contractors that inflate prices at your expense.

I had just completed a full apartment renovation. It was a very good experience. I had a great team in Nihaar and Monica as project manager and designer. Few mistakes were made . Mostly rectified. Few disappointments but overall it was a positive experience.
Apartment renovation is never a cake walk but I think they made it much more bearable than it would have otherwise been.
One of the great things I like about chapter, They promise not to walk away from the job once it’s completed. But Nihaar promised to be there for the next year if any issues related to the work done arise. I very much appreciate that.

For the full gut-renovation project of our kitchen & bathroom plus removing a wall between the living room and dining room in our 100 year old Brooklyn Co-Op apartment building we got estimates from four different contractors -and ultimately chose Andy’s company because of his vast experience, his strong attitude of wanting to execute everything perfectly, plus his ability to clearly explain all the steps and stages involved ahead of time. Andy and his tight crew were great: experts in all the tasks they performed. On time every day, plus they consistently followed all the Management/Co-Op renovation protocols regarding public spaces, elevator use, clean-up, etc… Andy also expertly handled the various difficult problems that arose due to the existing old electrical and plumbing issues which needed proper correcting and replacing. Plus, near the end of the project, we decided to also have all new ceilings with sound proofing installed in all the rest of the apartment too …Andy and his team did it to perfection including all the final sanding and painting. Everything in the renovation project looks terrific, and we have peace of mind knowing that every step and stage was done properly, to code, and with quality materials. I will definitely be calling Andy again if we ever have another project requiring a contractor.

A big renovation can cause a lot of anxiety. It is much easier if you find a good contractor. That is our experience with NY contractors. Andy and his guys proved to be reliable, hard-working, and knowledgeable. They did our kitchen, and the main bathroom, installed wooden floors and doors throughout the house, and we can say they did a high-quality job. There were other things they improved. These improvements meant a lot to us, like painting all the windows and radiator covers. Attention to detail was unbelievable. It is hard to say what our favorite is, gorgeous bathroom, white and indigo kitchen, or the banister Andy made for us, a simple, elegant art. Their work ethic is commendable, cleaning everything after they finished was great. We wanted to maximize the space on the walls of our living room by creating built-ins and adding a fireplace feature. (See first photo which is the “before” photo from the “for sale” listing).

We selected Urban Homecraft, and our experience was outstanding. From our first meeting with George and Kayla, the attention to detail was excellent. The contracting experience was seamless as we worked with Casey to sort out the details. We then worked closely with Kayla on the entire design phase of the built-ins. She helped us with the proper sizing, material selection, and helped us ensure we chose the right size for our fireplace insert. Kayla also coordinated with our marble vendor to ensure the stone was properly templated to match the specs of the design. In sum, Kayla is excellent.

Finally, the installation team was great. They prepped our apartment to minimize any mess and debris and worked within the parameters of our co-op’s “ house rules.” The installers were incredibly detailed in their work. As you can see from the 3 last photos, the built-ins came out beautifully and add so much to our apartment. 5 stars for Urban Homecraft!

When we were gathering proposals from different closet companies Urban Homecraft really stood out in terms of being able to maximize space in the face of oddly-shaped NYC closets. They were able to deal with all of the weird shapes and even a cable running through one closet that belonged to our building and needed to stay in place. None of it phased them, and what they were able to build for us is in a totally different league than what would have been possible with a modular closet system from one of their competitors.

Working with them was a total breeze. They’re all really lovely people! It was a very collaborative process; they listened to everything we were hoping to accomplish and told us how to make the best use of our space. They measured all of our items to make sure everything we wanted to store would fit, including how high we’re comfortable reaching to put away a coat on a hanger. Their attention to detail was incredible. They explained all of the pros and cons when we had to make a decision and were very up front when something would cost extra (no pressure and no surprises). And they were very thorough in going over the plans with us before construction started to make sure we were happy and didn’t have any unanswered questions.

Getting approval from our building and construction itself was also super simple. The project ran smoothly and finished on time. They made sure we tested everything and were happy before closing things out. And the end result is beautiful and functional. It’s been almost a year and they’re holding up great. We can store so much more, and access our belongings more easily, than we ever could before. What more could you ask for?

NYC Professional Millwork helped us build a cabinet for our fireplace and install a wood paneled TV wall. They did an amazing job and the entire experience was smooth. The cabinet turned out even more beautiful than we imagined. The construction crew was very detail conscious and diligent. I had a very good experience working with Max to build a custom closet/bed surrounds. Max is very communicative and prompt. In addition, the workers on site installed my built-in and worked quickly to modify the fit due to irregular/never straight NYC apartments. The workers also cleaned up debris in the common hallway without being asked.
They put my inspiration for a very unique size 16 in depth X 10Ft wall space into a very nice looking built in closet and ample storage for bulk items as well. They also finished up my studio work out corner with custom sized mirrors.

Once designed, the construction process was very quick, and once constructed, they brought over and installed the island and closet shelving in a day. Outstanding craftsmanship and friendly service. We had a large and complicated job, and NYC Millwork really delivered.

We did a gut renovation of our apartment and wanted to layer in some high-end millwork: a complicated bar with rounded cabinets, an elegant niche, two high-demand desks and accompanying floating shelves, and a full-room, complex, built-in library with functioning ladder/system. All of this was to be done with high quality materials. I dealt with Max from the outset, and he patiently went over all of our needs before we finalized our plans. He walked us through many options before creating plans for us. Once we settled on these, he and his team went over every detail multiple times to ensure that everything would come out as needed. This included several site visits for precise measurements.

Once the things were crafted and ready, a team arrived to install. The bar and the niche were fully fabricated offsite, so only needed to be installed. Max’s team were all friendly and professional and this all was done in just a few hours.

The desks and shelves proved a touch more complicated for varying reasons (some mechanical, some space related), but the team remained jovial and kept at things until everything was resolved to my satisfaction.

But the real piece de resistance was the library, which is a showstopper. It is fully integrated into the room, is very high quality, built of the best materials, and involves lighting as well. It involved an immense amount of technical precision. The team pulled it all off and we are absolutely thrilled with the result.

I am very happy with all of the results and am glad to recommend Max and his team for top rate millwork in NYC.
