SOS Locksmith has been in business a very long time for a good reason - they’re ready to help and go way beyond the ordinary level of service.I recently contacted SOS regarding a magnetic lockset at my building, which was having an issue keeping the front door locked.Within a few hours a tech called me to advise what I could do on my own, which got the lockset working again following adjustment to the touch sensitivity. Now, the best part: SOS waived a fee since the issue was resolved over the phone.I moved to Chelsea in 1989. SOS was there then, and they’re still in business after all these years. No wonder. They’re the neighborly locksmith ready to serve all of your needs, with heart and soul.

Customer service was very good. They created my keys very efficiently and fast. The employees were very caring and nice. Would definitely recommend for keys.

Disgusting, predatory business. I found myself locked out of my apartment, with my dog freaking out and working herself into a frenzy. I had no phone, and had to borrow a neighbors, so I wasn’t able to research any other options, which I greatly regret.When I called, the tech said services start at $95. That figure is greatly misleading. It is $95 plus whatever they deem your issue worthy of being charged. The technician arrived relatively quickly, but upon looking at my lock, claimed it would charge $395 to drill. I consented to this, knowing I needed to get to my dog. Upon drilling the lock out, the tech then told me it would be another $375 to fix the lock, on top of the $95 service charge and taxes.I told the tech that I work as a first responder as an EMT, and $800+ plus taxes is at least a week and a half of my wages and I have to pay my bills this month. I was met with just a shrug of the shoulders and “I have a business” with a discount of $30 and no taxes. On top of this ridiculous cost, he only takes Zelle, and refuses to take credit card. I paid the charge, but was certainly scammed and am now going to struggle to make ends meet this month.Upon googling, my lock cost no more than $100 online, and the technician was at my apartment no more than 25 minutes— hard to believe that’s worth at least $750 worth of work. Absolutely despicable company with no empathy at all and no actual technical ability. They just have a drill and some discount locks that they install and mark up greatly. Avoid at all costs.
