Why would you not get more miles from those perfectly broken-in shoes?? I found Cobbler Concierge from the customer service folks at a brand I buy from a lot, and I’m so glad I did. I had absolutely wrecked a pair of heels on a business trip but I had just broken them in. They did a beautiful job fixing the sole (and gave me a bit more traction) and replaced the heel tips and glued the leather back. I just sent another well-loved pair and can’t wait to get them back. And don’t think you need to buy super high-end shoes to use this service. They really do an amazing job with any shoes you want to keep for the long-haul. Highly recommend for both repairs and general upkeep and maintenance!

I brought my Chanel bag to Jim’s on 10/14. My bag was in sad shape. The interior lining had been sewn in with really bad black heavy thread & was an eyesore, the exterior was scuffed. Jim’s did a beautiful job taking the interior out, reinforcing it & sewing it back in correctly. The exterior was refurbished & It looks perfect! I had them put feet on the bottom to prevent further damage. They did an incredible job & I am more than pleased! I live out of state & they shipped it to me in a big heavy box, the bag was tissue wrapped! I received it as promised on 11/6/24! A great experience!

The Perfect 10 shoe repair shop in Hells Kitchen is a God sent for the well heeled in New York City. Like moi! Tucked away near the Alvin Ailey dance center on 9th avenue, it’s easy to miss along the left side of street facing north.

I discovered the shoe store 12 years ago when I was a resident of the neighborhood. It’s run and owned by Alex, an immigrant to the United States from Uzbekistan. He’s a very interesting character, indeed.

Don’t let the ramshackled appearance of the store throw you off. Alex’s knows his trade very well. His workmanship is exceptional and costs a pretty penny but is well worth the excellent finish you get. If you are cheeky and grew up in Asia, like me, you’ll ask for a bargain or discount to get a good price. Alex’s turnover time is fast. Just remember he is closed on Saturdays but open the rest of days of the week. He repairs bags, boots plus luggage too I understand.

I’ve had my shoes from Christian LeBoutin to Bata all repaired by this master of his trade. Enjoy your visit chez Alex at Perfect 10. You’ll be stepping out in well repaired and perfect 10 well heeled style thereafter!

Oh my! I had so abused my Prada bag. Taking it with me everywhere and it really showed the wear. It had a small hole on the bottom and the bags color was faded and worn. Went here on a rainy day to fix my purse since the bolt of the sling bag keep snapping. I was recommended by a friend of this place and they were very nice. The staff say I only need to add glue. It took around 15 minutes and when it’s done, they didn’t charge me anything. I was surprised with their nice gesture. Amazing service!

Sent several pieces for repair. Their work is good. Recently returned from Europe and couldn’t get my LV tote, that was recently repaired with this company, through TSA. Turns out a tool was left in between the lining that THEY repaired that triggered tsa into meltdown mode. I thought i was going to have to rip the lining to remove the tool to appease tsa. Things happen but when i called Jims about what THEY did THEY treated me like it was MY problem. They were willing to cover shipping but wouldn’t cover insurance tho they know the totes value. Worked it out and i repeat i had to cover insurance. They removed the tool and return the tote to me. No apologies. No kiss my ass. Nothing. Says a lot about the integrity of this company. Things happen. Mistakes happen but it’s how you respond and handle a less than favorable situation that is YOUR companies that says a lot. It makes one question the integrity in the services they provide.

The interaction with your front desk staff was, unfortunately, one of the most negative customer service experiences I’ve had in quite some time. The woman at the front desk was unhelpful, condescending, and even made comments that felt uncomfortably discriminatory. I left feeling both dismissed and disrespected, which is the last thing I expect when paying for a service.

Not only was her attitude problematic, but her communication skills left much to be desired. She did not thoroughly explain the repair process on my shoes, and as a result, one of my shoes was fixed in a way I didn’t want or expect. Had I been properly informed about the procedure, I would have requested a different approach—or possibly chosen not to proceed with the repair at all.

I strongly recommend considering a change in your front desk staff to ensure a friendlier, more professional, and respectful environment for customers. Additionally, some retraining on effective communication could make a big difference in how your staff explains service options, which would ultimately lead to happier, more informed customers.

Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend your store. However, I hope that with a few changes, future customers will have a much more positive experience.

Would not recommend this business for non-warranty Kate Spade repair though they are an official repair center. I have reached out to them twice via email about a mail-in job that was not completed as we had discussed on the phone and they have not replied to either email.

The issue: My purse was missing one rivet and they called me after receiving it because the replacement piece was out of stock. We discussed during the call that they would replace both rivets on that side so they would match each other, but they only took care of the missing one and it is a different color and size than the other. I am not usually exceedingly picky but it does not look good, especially considering that this work cost $90 plus $30 return shipping.

Definitely 5 starts to the service, professionalism and quick repair of Modern Leather Goods. I was on my way to the airport, and the handle snapped for my lovely Victorinox carry on luggage. Total rip off. I have never been happy here but this time takes the cake. I brought my Loewe bag here for a scratch that had removed the color and asked them to clean it while they were at it. I went back to pick it up and the scratch is still there. When I questioned them he told me they «can’t remove scratches». And kept emphasizing that they cleaned the whole bag. The cleaning was a secondary concern. I brought the bag in for the scratch and yet the limitations on what they could do were not clearly communicated. He offered to keep the bag and try again so I asked if they could deliver to me and the non-response was «we use a third party service» YES, AND??? Sums up their entire problem with communication and dishonesty and no- I’m not interested in their clap back response that they like to give on here because clearly customer service isn’t a concern to them. The money grab is all this place cares about. You would think with so many one star reviews from disappointed customers they would realize they’re the problem instead of defending themselves every time.

If you want your shoes to look like garbage send them to this leather spa. They will damage them and not even care. After calling them, the rude lady on the phone said the they are not responsible for damaging the sole and burnt them like they were put in the oven. The sole turned yellow bc of the solution they use to clean, but lady insists screaming that i call the brand company. Never had such a bad experience ever. Not even apologies but acting gangsta on the phone and then she hung up. Meanwhile leather spa made them yellow and ruined them. Burnt yellow sole, the suede not cleaned. Terrible service and customer service.

It no matter what month i decide to wear my shoes. The shoes were received with a yellow sole from your company. The day received. We are not stupid now to know how a shoe is received. Again not responsible company and rude staff. Hanging up the phone on a customer never heard before.

Leather spa, you have long been my go to for any designer shoe repairs, purse repairs, etc. I am SO DISAPPOINTED with my most recent service. I had brought my Celine luggage tote to get cleaned and the handles replaced. This bag is about 11 years old and it’s been through a lot. Yet not even a full year after getting the handles redone and this purse gets very little wear (I use it for the office but primarily work from home so I could count on 2 hands how many times I’ve used it in the last year), the handles that leather spa replaced the originals with are already peeling!!!! The photo speaks for itself. Can’t believe I spent I believe $750 for this “repair” service.

UPDATE TO MY REVIEW: leather spa offered to inspect the damage and so I shipped my bag back to them and informed them that I am in the process of moving and would provide them with a new address before the bag is shipped back. Of course, nobody bothered reaching out to me when the work was completed, and I found out once the label was already created that my bag has been shipped to my former address where I no longer live and to the wrong recipient. Now my bag is lost.

I felt like I went back to 1940, with the extra clothes and dressing rooms to use to try on, multiple artisans working in concert, and a lovely store next to him MoMA, with scenes of French restaurants outside the storefront window. The best!! I had a pair of boots that were too tall and Yakub did the best job of cutting and finishing the shaft so I can wear them. He also put a rubber bottom on the sole for free, and his prices are very reasonable 🙂

Wow! I had python The Row boots that were purchased secondhand with a significant amount of wear and wore them for a few months last fall. The heels and toes were worn down and the scales looked ok but not fresh. I brought them in and in less than 24 hrs had fresh new soles and they’d been oiled up to perfection. I am so glad to have discovered this place a few months ago. Since then, I have taken countless pairs of designer shoes to Yakub to be restored or to have thin rubber soles adhered. I do the latter to all of my designer shoes to make them last longer and Yakub charges a very reasonable price for a quality job.

This place was highly recommended to me to work on my wedding shoes. I had to go back a total of four times (last time was to pick up) because they were unable to tighten the straps correctly. They always just glanced at them and never measured how much of the strap needed to be taken in. The work was done was purely based on guessing. The third time they worked on my shoes one of them got dirty and rather than taking ownership they tried to deny it. It was obvious it happened while they were working because I did not have them in my possession since they were purchased. Instead of being apologetic when I finally became upset the last time I was there, they laughed. The place is very and expensive and I was really surprised with not only the attitude, but the lack of quality of their work.

María and Panos are two of the most lovely people in the business. Over the years, I’ve I brought dozens of pairs of shoes, handbags and other luxury leather goods in for repair. Not only do they do an amazing job in repair and restoration, but they always go above and beyond. They’ve been able to completely restore a couple handbags that would’ve been otherwise destined for the garbage—like new! I often come in with complicated requests, and they’re always happy to oblige with a smile. Speedy service and phenomenal craftsmanship. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.
